Instructions for Authors

The PCL Student Journal of Law is published by the Pakistan Center of Legal Research and Publication (PCLRP), twice a year.
Individuals interested in publishing with the journal are required to submit their articles to the PCLRP. The acceptance of an article for publication, depends on the quality of research, legal argument and the discretion of the editorial team.
Articles submitted for review must not be submitted to alternative publications or have been published elsewhere. To ensure the originality of the submissions, authors are required to sign an originality affidavit and send it together with their article's first draft. The originality affidavit can be downloaded by clicking on the button at the end of this page. For authors of published articles, only those who have obtained the permission of the journals carrying their publication, can make submissions for the PCLSJL.

The PCL Student Journal of Law provides a multidisciplinary forum for the discussion of legal issues in Pakistan. Any articles submitted must therefore, be premised on issues pertinent to Pakistan.
As a matter of policy, the journal encourages the use of gender neutral language.

Articles submitted must be submitted as a Microsoft Word Document.
Articles must be accompanied by an abstract not exceeding 200 words.
Articles must be in English (United Kingdom).
Articles must be between 5000-8000 words in length.
The OSCOLA method of citation must be used to cite authorities.
Articles must carry the complete name of the author(s) and their biographical information.
Authors must be aware of and comply with the ethical guidelines for authors provided below.
Each article must cite at least five Supreme Court of Pakistan's judgments. Complete case citation is required, including the names of the parties.

Styling of the article will be entirely up to the discretion of the editors. All authors are requested to format their articles using the citation guide provided below.
